I'm Michelle Hoffman, a proud South Carolinian hailing from Spartanburg, with a deep-rooted commitment to our community. My husband, John Hoffman, and I have been happily married for 18 years, and we are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters—one in 8th grade at Forest Creek Middle School and the other in 10th grade at Catawba Ridge High School.

My educational journey began in Charlotte, I worked for E*TRADE Financial until I decided to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching from Queens University of Charlotte. I then taught Kindergarten through 5th grade at Myers Park Traditional School. When my husband’s career led us to Fort Mill, I had the joy of teaching at Doby’s Bridge Elementary and substituting at Gold Hill Middle School. In 2020, I was honored to receive the Winthrop University Outstanding Collaborating Mentor Teacher Award.

I wear many hats and am committed to the Fort Mill community in many ways - a few of which I am grateful to share with you below.

My Mom Hat

Trying to keep up with my 8th and 10th graders is truly the joy of my life.

Lilly and Caroline make every day so fun, memorable, and eventful as their academics, extracurriculars, and social lives dominate the family calendar. John and I love this vibrant season of life. While our girls are learning, growing, and challenging us in new ways every day, we are trying to soak up all the quality family time we can get!

My Teacher Hat

After earning my Masters while pregnant with Caroline, I soon found myself falling back in love with school: The camaraderie among the teachers, the eruptions of laughter in the classroom, the kindergarten parents experiencing school through the eyes of their children for the first time… It was magical. To this day, the absolute best thing about teaching is witnessing that lightbulb moment - when something clicks and a child begins to read for the first time. Nothing compares to it and I feel so grateful to have been a part of so many of these life-changing moments.

My Community Hat

I’m an active member of Unity Presbyterian Church, where I contribute to the Youth Ministry Team. I also support our community as a Friend of the Greenway and Co-Chair of the Greenway Ladies Guild. Our family is incredibly grateful for the cherished friends and memories we’ve made while serving our community.
